One of Europe’s most comprehensive research environments in electro-technology and electrical energy systems will be housed at the Technical University of Denmark in Copenhagen, following the merger of two research groups in the DTU electric technology centre, the university announced on 22 December.
According to statistics from the EU Commission, 22 per cent of Europe’s smart grid R&D projects are in Denmark. The DTU centre is to be involved in most of these activities, according to the university statement.
