Non-EU scientists pay to work in Denmark

University heads have slammed immigration rules which mean that researchers from countries outside out of the EU must apply and pay for residence permits.

Lars Pallesen, vice-chancellor at the Denmark’s Technical University, told the Information newspaper on 10 July that the rules are “crazy” and sends a signal that foreign scientists should be grateful to be able to work in Denmark. “The opposite is the case”, he said.
