The number of clinical trials in Denmark increased in 2012 compared with 2011, ending a downward trend in clinical research, according to an industry survey.
The figures, released by the Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (Lif) and the trade organisation Danish Biotech, state that companies had 297 clinical trials underway in 2012, an increase from the previous year.
A total of 96 of these were started in 2012, states the report. In terms of participant figures, 17,961 people took part in trials during 2012. Clinical research has been in decline since 2007, when there were over 400 trials underway in Denmark.
