Copenhagen teams up with biohackers

The head of the University of Copenhagen’s Center for Synthetic Biology is acting as scientific adviser for BiologiGaragen, a group of ‘biohackers’.

BiologiGaragen, described as the first do-it-yourself biology organisation in Denmark, aims to develop new, cheap bio-based products. So far, the group has developed a smartphone app that monitors the growth of bacterial cultures.
