Denmark maintains Framework programme success

The Danish government has announced that the country has taken home 1.1 billion Danish kroner (€150 million) from Horizon 2020 in the programme’s first year.

This is about the same as in Framework 7, under which Denmark averaged kr1bn per year. Danes are participating in just under 300 research and innovation projects, and their funding corresponds to 2.3 per cent of the money awarded so far under Horizon 2020.

The amount of funding won is still below the government’s target, which is to secure 2.5 per cent of Horizon 2020 funds. To help its researchers achieve this, the government has spent kr30m to date in 2015 on preparing applications, especially regardingthe Knowledge and Innovation Communities under the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
