Denmark to fund KIC preparation

The Danish government has announced an initiative to help researchers and companies bid for two calls that the European Institute of Innovation and Technology will launch in 2016.

The KIC-Start initiative will receive 12.5 million Danish kroner (€1.7m) from the government in 2015. It is open to companies, universities and other organisations that wish to bid for the ‘Food4future’ and ‘Added-value manufacturing’ Knowledge and Innovation Communities in 2016.

Prospective Danish participants can apply to funding including for travel expenses, networking and meeting costs, as well as consultancy costs, provided that they are necessary and relate directly to the preparation of a KIC application, the Danish government said. The call will be launched at the start of June by the Danish Agency for Science and Innovation, and the application deadline is 25 June.
