The five Nordic countries should create a €67-million research programme to boost the region’s competitiveness, a report has suggested.
The programme should be a public-private partnership to ensure companies match the public funds, the report, commissioned by the Nordic Council of Ministers, said. The report, published on 20 June, was conducted by the Finnish businessman Jorma Ollila, formerly chairman of Royal Dutch Shell and chairman and chief executive of Nokia.
The €67m research and demonstration programme should combine national and Nordic funds, and should also be linked to EU funds, the report said.
