Denmark nominated for UN space committee

A United Nations committee for the peaceful use of space has suggested Denmark as its latest member.

The Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Space (Copuos) nominated Denmark after the country adopted its first space legislation in 2016.

The committee, which has 84 member countries, aims to govern the exploration and use of space for the benefit of humanity. It reviews international cooperation efforts, studies space-related activities and encourages space research programmes.
