Søren Pind, Denmark’s research minister, has told employees in his department that they may not email or text each other about work-related issues on Sundays.
In a blog post on 11 June, Pind lamented that in today’s world, people’s brains are constantly overflowing with information. “As soon as we have a little break, we immediately look at our phones. And inside the mobile phone is either Facebook or work,” he said.
He called the modern system “absolutely crazy”, adding that “it is wrong that we have almost completely abolished the telephone conversation”. This has led him to tell employees in his ministry to not write to each other on Sundays.
