Finland sets up bio bank to fight leukemia

Finnish cancer scientists will get easier access to blood and tissue samples for clinical trials in the future through a new Helsinki-based biobank launched by the Finnish Association of Haematology on 30 November.

The bank will aim to provide researchers with better material for research to improve health care and triple the number leukemia survivors, according to Kimmo Porkka, chief physician at Helsinki University Hospital.
