University offers IP to laid-off Nokia staff

Lappeenranta University of Technology is opening its intellectual property portfolio to staff made redundant by Nokia, one of the world's largest mobile manufacturers, LUT announced on 20 June.

On 14 June Nokia announced that it is cutting its workforce in Finland by 3,700. LUT said it hoped that offering them information and clean technology innovations and business ideas would help generate jobs and spin-offs.
