IAE: Research paves way for carbon-neutral Nordics

The International Energy Agency (IEA) says that research will be a vital ingredient if the Nordic countries are to become the world’s first carbon neutral region by 2050.

In a 22 January report, the agency says that challenges facing the Nordic countries’ ambitious renewable energy targets include a scale-up of wind power and of biofuels, and a complete cessation of coal use.
