EU provides €5 million for Nokia redundancies

The European Commission is to provide Finland with over €5 million to help 1000 workers find jobs after they were made redundant by telecommunications giant Nokia.

The funding, from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF), will be matched by the Finnish government to create a total rescue package of €10.7 million that will be spent in the coming year.
