The Association of Finnish Chemical Societies has awarded its 2013 prize to Tapani Pakkanen, a professor of physical chemistry at the University of Eastern Finland.
Pakkanen, who is based at the chemistry department of the university’s Joensuu campus, was recognised for his lifetime achievements in the field of chemistry, the association said. He joined the department in 1977 and has since advanced to full professorship in the area of physical chemistry.
