A Japanese eco-technology company has signed a five-year cooperation agreement with Finland’s innovation institute VTT to solve issues around water in cities.
The agreement, which was signed on 14 March, foresees several collaborative research projects that will look at water safety and wastewater treatment. VTT and Kobelco Eco-Solutions will look into systems to recover small amounts of precious metals and rare materials from large quantities of wastewater, such as may be found in cities.
