The Finnish government has set out plans to increase the sharing of research facilities and data between universities and research centres.
The government published the roadmap, called Kotumo, on 8 May. It was developed in conjunction with universities, universities of applied sciences and public research centres, to come up with ways to improve links between institutions without additional funding.
The roadmap covers five areas of activity: communications; education and research; shared campuses and field stations; shared research infrastructure; and the use of research databases and results.
