Finnish economy centre to expand

Etla, the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy, has announced that it will launch an international trade programme.

The institute said that international trade had been growing slower since 2008, and that trade barriers have increased. Growing instability in international economic relations has led to political changes around the world, and as a result it has been difficult for Finland to get involved in export markets, Etla said.

The international trade programme will study Finland’s export performance, and the results of such research would be used to strengthen and assess the impact of changes in trade policy, the institute said.
