The Finnish government has appointed Pertti Korhonen as the chairman of the board of the innovation agency Tekes.
On 28 June, the government selected a new board for Tekes for the next three years. It will be lead by Korhonen, currently a board member and a former chief executive of the engineering services company Outotec. Petri Peltonen, under-secretary of state in the ministry of economic affairs and employment, was appointed vice-chairman. The board’s term will begin on 1 July.
Tekes is in the process of merging with Finpro, the public organisation promoting Finnish companies abroad, to create a new entity called Business Finland. It will be an umbrella organisation that gathers all government services related to innovation funding and the promotion of exports, investment and travel.
