The Academy of Finland is looking for suggestions for research programmes and themes that its Strategic Research Council could introduce in 2020.
The national research funder launched a consultation on 1 November asking researchers, industry representatives, civil society organisations and the general public to propose themes and programme areas. The goal of the exercise is to develop research programmes that address the needs of society, according to a statement.
“We are looking for topics that renew science through new methods, approaches or perspectives,” said Jaana Roos, a science adviser at the Academy of Finland. “Now is a good opportunity to propose a rising research area, or a topic that is internationally interesting and growing.”
