A group of Finnish companies has made a €3-million donation to several universities in order to improve engineering research and education.
The Technology Industries of Finland and the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries provided the money, which is intended to boost the engineering and transport fields and combat a shortage of professionals.
Tampere University of Applied Sciences received €700,000, it announced on 27 March. Rector Markku Lahtinen said the funds would be used to strengthen the university’s teaching and learning environments and increase cooperation with technology companies.
