Norway’s R&D spend dropped last year

Total spend on R&D in Norway dropped by 0.7 per cent last year, according to a statement published by the Norwegian Association of Researchers (NAR) on 31 October.

According to the statement, 42.8 billion kroner (€5.5bn) was spent on R&D in Norway last year. This is a nominal increase of 800m kroner on the previous year, or 2.1 per cent. But after inflation has been accounted for, this is the equivalent a 0.7 per cent drop.
