The Norwegian Research Council is to spend 450 million kroner (€58m) over four years on innovative businesses in what it described as the biggest investment of its kind in Norway on 2 November.
The money will counteract the decline in industrial R&D spend in the country since the start of the financial crisis in 2008. “It is very gratifying to be able to make this announcement now,” said Anne Kjersti Fahlvik, the director of the council’s innovation division.
