Norwegian researchers paid to lead EU projects

The Norwegian science council is keen for the country’s scientists to take leading roles on EU research projects and has earmarked funding of up to a million kroner (€130,000) for applicants who are willing to take on the role of coordinator, it announced on 11 July.

The council hopes that the extra cash, which would be added to the EU grants, will make scientists more interested in taking on the responsibility, which includes extra administrative tasks.
