Statoil slashes support for wild reindeer study

Norwegian oil giant Statoil has stopped support for a project studying the conditions for wild reindeer in Canada, after it concluded that the increased traffic connected to the oil industry were to blame for making the animals nervous, Aftenposten newspaper reported on 6 July. However, Statoil told the paper that the company is prepared to follow-up on the conclusions of the study.
