Norway’s researchers spend less time on red tape

A report published by the Labour Research Institute (AFI) shows that researchers in Norway are still working as much today as they were 12 years ago. However, they spend proportionally less time on administration than they used to, says the report published on 24 January.

“We are pleased to confirm that the organisation of work at universities and colleges is not threatening research. However, Norwegian researchers work a lot – maybe too much,” says Tora Aasland, Norway’s research minister.
