Norway and India set up biodiversity centre

A centre for biodiversity partially funded by the Norwegian government will be set up in Chennai, India, the Norwegian environment ministry announced on 1 February.

Work at the centre will focus on areas such as biosafety, updating national action plans and strategies on biodiversity and developing legislation connected to India’s Biodiversity Act. Tasks will include advising the Indian government on biodiversity.
