Minister seeks input for 2013 science bill

Norway's research minister has called for public comment on what should be in the country's next research bill, expected by spring 2013.

Tora Aasland said in a statement on 27 February that she wants to hear from both the general public and academics.

People have until 28 March to tell the government how it ought to spend its research cash. The minister particularly encouraged suggestions related to the improvement of knowledge transfer and dissemination of research.

The growing internationalisation of research and higher education is also a priority topic, the minister said. She added that the government will host a conference in Oslo on 28 March to kick off the debate on the bill.
