Kristin Halvorsen, Norway’s minister for education and research, is prepared to look at whether Norway should focus less on EU’s research and innovation programme after it emerged that the country only claims back 70 per cent in research funding of what it pays in to the EU.
“We must expect that there will be tighter times with less financial scope. Then it is reasonable to ask what we get back from research cooperation with the EU,” she told the Norwegian research council in an interview published on 11 June.
