Industry PhD scheme works well, but is unknown, says Nifu

A Norwegian programme that supports PhDs in collaboration with industry works well and should be continued, says Nifu, the Nordic Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research and Education. But it needs its profile raised among universities in order to attract more and better PhD candidates.

The so-called Naerings PhD programme, which focuses on nutrition and health research, was launched as a pilot programme five years ago, and is funded by the Norwegian education ministry and trade ministry.
