PhDs on the rise in Norway

Norway saw a record number of PhD students complete their degrees in 2012, the Forskerforbundet, Norway’s researchers union, has said.

Last year, a total of 1,461 PhDs were awarded in the country, a 10 per cent increase on 2011, the union said. A large share of these, 511 in total, were awarded to students at the University of Oslo.
