Norway’s research council Forskningsrådet is to increase funding for interdisciplinary research and sustainability and target participation in international programmes, its long-term strategy has revealed.
Forskningsrådet published its 2015-20 strategy on 15 May. It outlines six areas that the council will focus on, including strengthening technology transfer and innovation, increasing research that contributes to a sustainable society and economy, increasing Norway’s participation in Horizon 2020, and boosting industry innovation.
The council will launch more calls for interdisciplinary research, increase cooperation with the country’s independent research centres, strengthen research infrastructure funding and increase cooperation between universities and industry, it states.
