Forskningsrådet, Norway’s research council, has signed an agreement with Singapore to fund a joint marine research programme.
The agreement was signed during the head of Forskningsrådet Arvid Hallén’s trip to Singapore, from 28 to 30 April. Under the agreement, Forskningsrådet will launch a joint call with the Singapore Maritime Institute. Forskningsrådet will provide 15 million Norwegian kroner (€1.8m) for the programme, to match a similar contribution from the Singapore government.
“Both Singapore and Norway attach great importance to improving the environmental impact of shipping, and there is great value in research collaboration between the two countries,” said Hallén.
