Norway finalises membership of supercomputing club

Norway’s government says it has completed preparations for joining the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC), an EU-backed initiative to increase Europe’s supercomputing power.

The Norwegian research ministry announced on 23 October that the government has completed the process of ensuring that Norway will be a full member of EuroHPC.

“We need heavy-duty machines to handle huge amounts of complex data in the future,” said research minister Iselin Nybø. “By joining this joint European partnership, we ensure that Norway has access to important expertise and technology.”
