The Research Council of Norway is opening up about its gender equality performance with the help of a measurement tool launched this week.
The gender barometer includes data on the research council’s applications, success rates and funding. The funder said the tool is intended to show whether its gender quotas are working.
“There may be a large variation in gender balance from call to call, especially where there are few allocations,” said John-Arne Røttingen, the council’s chief executive. “We want to show the variation between different sectors and institutions to raise awareness about this issue.”
