A council for science within Russia’s ministry of education and science held its first meeting on 1 April.
The minister of education and science, Dmitry Livanov, opened the meeting. He said that the council should act both as a body for communication and for expertise—to ensure government decisions meet the expectations of Russia’s scientific community.
