The Russian Science Foundation has announced the 16 winners of its competition for complex scientific programmes.
Twelve of the winners are government organisations under the jurisdiction of Fano, the Federal Agency for Scientific Organisations. These include two institutes located in Siberia: the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, which will be funded to conduct research on north and central Asia; and the Institute of Nuclear Physics, to study fusion.
Three universities will receive funds: the Moscow State Lomonosov University, Saint Petersburg State University and the Far Eastern Federal University. The final winner is a project at the Nikitsky Botanical Garden in Crimea.
