Animal rights group disrupts research in Italy

Animal activists have broken into a facility at the University of Milan in an act that has destroyed “years of work”, according to researchers.

According to Nature, five campaigners occupied the laboratory for around 12 hours on Saturday (20 April), during which time they released mice and rabbits and mixed up cage labels.

The animals were being used for research into psychiatric disorders, including autism and schizophrenia, reports Nature.
