The European Commission has launched a consultation on improving the procedures to issue short-stay Schengen visas to international visitors.
The improvements are meant to make it easier for travellers, such as business people, tourists, students and scientists, to enter Schengen member countries, the Commission says. The review of the Schengen system is supposed to boost European economic growth and improve cultural exchange, the Commission added.
The consultation runs until 17 June, and both individuals and organisations are invited to respond.
