The European Commission has adopted a proposal that would allow Kosovo to participate in EU programmes, including the Framework 7 research programme.
The official proposal, published on 22 April, marks the next step in a process to establish a framework agreement between the EU and Kosovo initiated by the Commission in 2011.
The proposal must now be approved by the Council of Ministers, and will enter into force after it has been signed by both the EU and Kosovo.
