Greece passes research bill

Greece has approved national legislation for research, technological development and innovation which, policymakers hope, will help to revive the nation's research and innovation.

The bill, which was passed by the parliament in Athens on 27 November, sets out a new national research system to improve innovation and entrepreneurship, the government said.

The law contains provisions to improve the mobility of researchers and academics between universities and industry as well as creating more favourable conditions for industry to invest in R&D.
