R&D-intensive tech, space and defence companies expect their voices to be heard
Business associations have welcomed the European Parliament’s approval of Frenchman Thierry Breton as the next EU commissioner for industry, digital, space and defence research.
Breton served as France’s economy, finance and industry minister in 2005-7, then led the IT services company Atos for 10 years before stepping down at the end of October after he was nominated for the EU internal market commissioner role.
