First-time MEP Lina Gálvez Muñoz has gone from academia to Parliament’s research committee
The push to secure a bigger budget for the EU’s next R&D programme has a committed advocate in former academic Lina Gálvez Muñoz. She was elected an MEP in May and is now a vice-chair of the European Parliament’s Committee for Industry, Research and Energy.
With member state governments still squabbling over their budget stance on the forthcoming Horizon Europe programme, the Spanish member of the centre-left Socialist and Democrat political group has been lobbying her country’s research and finance ministers to back the Parliament’s push for a €120-billion figure.
