EU advisory group calls for sustainability strategy

University group among organisations asking European Commission president to think long-term

Representatives of universities, companies and civil society organisations have written to the European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, asking her to put in place a strategy for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

“We hereby reiterate our call—shared by the European Council and Parliament—for an overarching Sustainable Europe 2030 strategy and implementation plan to allow for…an integrated, time-bound and targeted approach,” the representatives wrote in a letter on 16 December.
