Moedas joins board of non-profit Gulbenkian Foundation

Former R&D commissioner Carlos Moedas will help lead scientific and cultural organisation

The former EU R&D commissioner Carlos Moedas has been elected to join the board of directors of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, based in Lisbon in his native Portugal.

The cultural, educational and scientific foundation—which offers scholarships for Portuguese researchers working with emerging technologies and has supported research in Portuguese-speaking Africa since the 1960s—confirmed Moedas’s appointment on 18 December.
