University alliance leaders have stressed the need to build new bridges across the English Channel after the UK’s general election result.

UK prime minister Boris Johnson’s party swept the polls on 12 December in the biggest conservative win in decades. The result ensures that the UK will leave the EU, likely early in 2020.
