An independent evaluation has given its backing to the EU’s Policy Support Facility, an initiative launched in 2015 to help improve the research performance of EU countries and those associated to the bloc’s Horizon 2020 R&D programme.
“Overall perceptions of the PSF are positive and participants feel it adds significant value at EU and national level, although there are points that require attention,” an expert group reported on 29 April.
The group was chaired by Frieder Meyer-Krahmer, former director of Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research and former state secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
