In a celebratory final meeting with its current roster of MEPs, the European Parliament’s research committee backed the partial agreement on the EU’s next R&D programme but warned that vital work remains to be done.
The committee supported the partial agreement on the Horizon Europe legislation by 49 votes to 2 on 2 April. Chairman Jerzy Buzek (pictured) praised the EU institutions for getting the legislation to the finish line ahead of the European elections in May.
“One year ago, I don’t think we could imagine we would be ready,” Buzek said. “You have done great work.”
