Economic and Societal Impact of Research and Innovation expert group given revised role

The European Commission has reinstated an advisory body that provided it with economic evidence on research and innovation funding from 2017-19, reinvigorating it with fresh faces and a revised mandate.

The Economic and Societal Impact of Research and Innovation (ESIR) group will focus for the next two years on ensuring that EU research and innovation policy supports sustainable development and other priorities of the new Commission president Ursula von der Leyen.
