Adoption confirms funding allocations for EU programmes, meaning money should be awarded from January 2021
EU institutions have formally approved the bloc’s €1 trillion 2021-27 budget framework, paving the way for programmes including the Horizon Europe R&D programme to begin in January 2021.
The European Parliament backed a deal on the budget in a virtual session on 16 December, by 548 votes to 81. The Council of the EU gave its assent the next day, completing the final step in the process.
