Budget decision needed to avoid ‘real trouble’, universities say

Upcoming meeting of national leaders described as ‘crunch time’ for EU programmes

It is “of the utmost importance” that leaders of EU member states adopt a stance on the bloc’s 2021-27 budget when they meet on 20 February, the League of European Research Universities has said.

A decision at the European Council meeting “would still be timely”, Leru said in a statement on 14 February. By contrast, it said, “a further delay in the decision-making process however would mean real trouble”.
